Urban Eating, Redifined
Urban Table, a Bread and Butter Concepts restaurant located in Prairie Village, has an appealing atmosphere that is a welcome backdrop for a wide variety of gatherings. It is designed to be a casual space for sophisticated tastes that serves brunch on the weekends, lunch during the week, and dinner every night. In addition, customers can expect to dine in an environment that provides a Zen-like experience while they eat. Like to enjoy the view from outside but still want the benefit of ambient lighting? This restaurant has a terrific patio area where patrons can enjoy the outdoors in comfort regardless of the weather 365 days a year.
Branching out of one’s comfort zone and trying a daily special is highly recommended. These specials are made daily with fresh ingredients, and better yet, they buy locally-sourced, organic products whenever possible. For people who like to stick with the menu, Urban Table has a diverse one that offers everything from pork chops to quinoa burgers. The following menu items are all delicious and will be staying on the menu through the fall: All appetizers (you just cannot go wrong), the Short Rib Ragu, Chicken Udon Bowl or Pork Belly Bowl, the Tacos de Pollo, and Shrimp and Chips. Many dishes are gluten-free or can be made gluten-free upon request.
Before 2013, lunch and brunch was ordered at the counter, but now Urban Table is full service all day. Brunch here is extensive; it features a few traditional choices such as: buttermilk pancakes, omelets, biscuits and gravy, and waffle sliders, but it also features a few twists, such as grilled doughnuts, artichoke fritters, as well as a dish called the Villager with Scottish smoked salmon and other enticing ingredients. Bottom line: there are enough choices on the menu to satisfy all kinds of palates.
If you still need a reason to dine at Urban Table, check out the bruschetta, which is one of their most popular items. There is a wide variety of toppings to satisfy any craving, and they are served upon a delicious slice of ciabatta made by Kanas City Bread Company. Two to try: mozzarella, tomatoes, arugula pesto or candied bacon, diced tomato, fontina, and balsamic reduction; both are fantastic. For anyone that would just like to visit for happy hour, there are enough cocktails, wine and beer choices for patrons who simply want to soak in the atmosphere and enjoy a drink.
Urban Table is a popular local establishment for good reason; there are a wide variety of dishes for brunch, lunch, and dinner that caters to all kinds of palates, an expansive wine and beer list, with a cool, neighborhood vibe that enhances the overall experience.
